Features
- Carbon dioxide gas fire extinguisher is based on c02 gas. It expels carbon dioxide gas which works by removing the oxygen supply from the burning area which shuts off the fire.
- Water cannot be used in case of fire-related to electricity or due to flammable liquids like oil, paints, petrol, diesel, etc, as in case of electric fire there is a high risk of shock as water is a very good conductor of electricity. Hence water cannot be used in this case.
- In the case of oil fire also water cannot be used as the oil will float over water and the burning process will even continue after water application hence it is not capable of bringing down oil fires.
- So as to overcome these problems carbon dioxide gas is used to switch off these kinds of fires. Co2 fire extinguisher is used in case of class B and C fires.
